With the prettiest setting in Kotka, overlooking the boat-filled marina, this beautiful turret-
topped wooden summer pavilion (a former yacht club) contrasts with its Modern Finnish
menu (horse tenderloin with green pepper sauce, spinach strudel et al).

SEAFOOD
11am-10pm Mon-Fri, 2-8pm Sat)
You might not expect much from the tacky Captain Haddock nautical decor but this sea-
food specialist by the Maretarium smokes its own salmon and pan fries a mean Baltic her-
ring.

BAR
In an unlikely car-park location, Kotka's quirkiest bar is this 1950s vintage railway car-
riage attached to a steam locomotive, with great cocktails and beer on tap. Terrace tables
overlook the metallic wave of the Maritime Centre Vellamo, but the cosiest seats are on
board.
Kairo
PUB
A legendary old sailors' boozer right down to the ships' flags and saucy paintings, with
live music and a great terrace. Ties are banned, and the rules state that if someone asks you
to dance, you can't turn them down!
