The Kymijoki is one of Finland's best fishing rivers - for detailed information, visit
www.lohikeskuskotka.fi . Fly-fishing is still allowed at Langinkoski Imperial Fishing
Lodge . The Fishing Centre ( 05-281-288; www.fishingcentre.fi ;Kymijoentie 55;fishing gear
rental per day from €15; 11am-6.30pm Mon-Fri, to 3pm Sat) sells permits (prices depend on
where you plan to fish and what you plan to catch) and can also organise fishing trips
(from €350 for up to four people).
Archipelago cruises of all types depart from Sapokka Harbour (Sapokanlahti) in sum-
mer to the islands around Kotka, along with scheduled ferries to the outlying islands.
