In-Depth Information
Sea views stream through Albatross' huge windows to its cool, calm interior. Seafood, par-
ticularly fish, is a speciality, such as salmon soup and pan-fried archipelago pike-perch;
turf-based dishes include lamb shanks with mash or pepper steak with wedges.

Getting There & Around
Ekenäs is served by buses (not always direct), but trains are invariably quicker and cheap-
er. Trains from Helsinki and Turku go via Karis (Finnish: Karjaa), where a change is re-
quired (some connections from Ekenäs to Karis involve a railbus).
Train services include the following:
Hanko (€5.40, 30 minutes, two hourly)
Helsinki (€19.80, 1½ hours, eight daily)
Turku (€23.10, 1½ hours, five daily)
The town is spread out and reasonably hilly: if you're puffed, get a taxi ( 019-106-9191)
from the market square.
Bicycles (per day €10) can be hired at the marina from the Guest Harbour Café .
