Makasiini's decor of rough timber, snow-white napkins and flickering candles is comple-
mented by simple cooking that allows the high-quality regional ingredients to shine. Sea-
food such as crayfish, fish roe, shrimp and perch features in its archipelago buffet and

You'll need to take a two-minute ferry journey from the East Harbour pier to this little
whitewashed cottage perched on a rugged granite island. Baltic cod with vegetables roas-
ted in lime butter, a smoked-cheese 'captain's burger' with potato salad, and archipelago
tapas are among the dishes served in a wicker-furnished interior.

Hakaniemi market), På Kroken's yacht-shaped buffet teems with choices. If the restaur-

mon soup with dark archipelago bread, or you can stock up on picnic fare at its fish shop.

At the eatery-clad East Harbour, Origo distinguishes itself with geothermal heating, local,
organic ingredients and a seasonal gourmet menu. Braised pork cheek cooked overnight is
a treat, as is its salmon soup with dark bread. Vegetarians are treated to unusual dishes,
such as black salsify pie.
