HELSINKI'S MARKET HALLS
While food stalls, fresh produce and berries can be found at the kauppatori, the real
centre of Finnish market produce is the kauppahalli (market hall). There are three in cent-
ral Helsinki, and they are fabulous places, with butchers, bakers, fishmongers and delis
selling a brilliant range of traditional food. Apart from wandering around photographing
the succulent range of smoked fish, they're great for self-catering, picnics and takeaway
food, and all have cafes and other casual eateries where you can eat in.
