Only 20 minutes on the metro from the city centre (Rastila station), this year-round camp-
ground makes a good budget option. Though scarcely rural, it's green and well equipped,
with a supermarket nearby. As well as grassy tent and plenty of van sites, there are wooden
cabins and more-upmarket log cottages, plus a gentle beach and facilities, including good
showers, fast wi-fi, saunas and bike hire.
There's also a summer hostel (dm/s/d €21/36/62 from mid-June to July)

Built in 1903 as the student clubhouse for the technical university opposite, this turreted
art nouveau castle-like building features a dark but atmospheric vaulted lobby. Rooms
have been given a makeover and are modern, with designer furniture and excellent amenit-
ies; there's a range of different sizes. Easy on-site parking makes this a good choice for
drivers.
