architecture and for the purposes of risk assessment. Panthera's e-commerce application interacts
with several other devices and applications for its operational needs.
he database is the primary resource that is accessed by the e-commerce application. he
database will store transactional information, user information, and inventory information for the
e-commerce application.
Panthera will also interact extensively with the payment gateway, PayM. Customers may select
to make payment using their credit cards. When the customer enters credit card information into
the e-commerce Web site and clicks on submit, Panthera's application will transmit the credit card
details to the payment gateway for authorization. he payment gateway will process the transac-
tion and send a response back to the e-commerce application with an approval or denial and will
also send an authorization code (in case the card purchase has been duly authorized) or a denial
code (in case the card purchase has been denied).
he email and messaging servers are another set of systems that Panthera's e-commerce appli-
cation will interact with. Panthera's application utilizes email systems for activities like activation
of user account, user veriications, and billing-related activities. For instance, if a user registers for
an account on Panthera's e-commerce application, an email will be sent to the user conirming
the registration. Emails will also be used for the sending invoices for purchases made by users in
Panthera's e-commerce store.
Panthera's e-commerce application also needs to interact with the organization's gift card data-
base. Customers may use gift cards to make payment for purchases on Panthera's e-commerce
application. he customer must enter the gift card number and the passcode into the application
