while also having a partial valley-filling effect during the early afternoon in order
to satisfy the constraint of having all thermal storage facilities at a maximum level

As the above figures show, the natural gas demand has two prominent peaks
occurring at 8 a.m. and at 6 p.m., while the base demand happens at 3 a.m.; in case 1
