Another aspect is the need to develop a geomatics vision by joining
knowledge from different geo-fi elds and informatics, as already done in
several universities around the world, e.g., Laval University in Quebec,
Canada, California State University, USA, and Politécnico de Milano, Italy.
In this way, professionals who have suffi cient informatics background may
be ready to take advantage of technological progress in providing solutions
for spatial data management and analysis.
