In-Depth Information
did not appear as a point to visit in most of the routes. The reason is it takes
a long time to visit La Sagrada Familia , and consequently, it weighs less than
the addition of several other monuments with a shorter visit. On the other
hand, La Sagrada Familia does not accept pets and thus people with pets
could not visit it.
Regarding time, 75% of the routes have a rate of 3 or more, but 35% of
routes have a rate of 2 or 3. The reasons are: elderly people and families with
small children cannot walk so long as is required by the route proposed.
Another drawback we found is that cinemas and theaters are not proposed
taking into account the time when the shows start, and the system does not
take into account the duration of the show. Therefore, some unsatisfactory
routes have been generated.
The worst evaluation came from a role that decided to start the visit
at 7 o'clock in the morning and, since there was nothing open at that time
the system did not proposed any route.
The best evaluation came from the role of group of friends at night,
and people alone.
Regarding restaurants, the ones proposed were also correct according
to the results of the test.
It is important to note, also, that the system generates different routes
for different roles. Therefore, the roles that, for example, “wanted to go
shopping” found a route totally different than the roles that “wanted to
visit monuments”.
From this evaluation we see that the system is able to offer different
routes to different people according to their preferences and personal
situation. The system is able to create a route that offers restaurants, shopping
centers, monuments, etc., taking into account how much time is needed to
visit every single place. The provided routes have been obtained in less than
6 seconds, totally offl ine, in the smartphones where they have been tested.
The combination of all these items with the proposed architecture is the
main contribution of the application to the actual constellation of CARS.
As has been seen in the test, to increase the satisfaction of the user it is
important to have the appropriate information in the database and different
visiting times according to each role (child and a young couples do not
take the same time to see the zoo for example). In addition, it is important
to take into account that some monuments maybe need a shorter time to
view them, than to visit them (we could go to view La Sagrada Familia and
taking some pictures of the facade, but going inside requires more time);
and also that some points of interest have a timetable (theaters or cinemas).
Finally, walk velocity must be adapted to every kind of user, since elderly
persons do not walk so fast as young persons.
