The fi rst screenshot of Fig. 10 shows an example of a route in Barcelona
city. The pushpins are the points of interest selected by the personalization
algorithm, which are data extracted from tourism ontology . Green pushpin
is the next point of interest the user will visit, the red fl ag represents a POI
already visited and the grey pushpins represent the other points of the route.
The blue line is the path calculated by the routing algorithm.
The other screenshots of Fig. 10 show some of the preferences of the
user, which are the same detailed on personal ontology (Fig. 5).
Evaluation
To evaluate the proof of concept, 20 tests have been performed taking into
account several roles and personal situations:
• Man alone
• Woman alone
• Family with babies
• Family with children
• Group of friends
• Young couple
• Middle age couple
• Elderly couple
We have also included roles with mobility problems and travelling with
pets. Several starting times have also been taken into account: early in the
morning, during the day and late in the night.
The test have been developed in the 22@ district of Barcelona, near
some important touristic points like La Sagrada Familia , Torre Agbar and
