Here there is a discussion of the differences between controlling the desert (a major
pre-occupation of some countries in both Asia and the Middle East) and combating
desertification. These two approaches are predicated on entirely different concepts
and the measures taken to achieve each of them are quite different.
We conclude the topic with some speculation about how the proven practices
outlined throughout this topic can be replicated and scaled up.
