6.3 Successful Projects

There are successful community-based projects that attempt to arrest and reverse
land degradation and protect biodiversity . Sloping land has been the focus of some
of them. The donor community has funded projects e.g. Watershed Management
(ADB), and Watershed Protection in Selected Micro Catchments of Mahaweli
(World Bank).
