￿
An error occurred while renewing interface “Internet”: An operation was attempted on
something that is not a socket.
When these occur, you can use netdiag from the Windows Support Tools to confirm
Winsock's integrity by using the /test:winsock /v switches. ( /v will produce more complete
debugging output than running the command with only the /test: switch.)
Once you've confirmed that you are experiencing Winsock corruption, you can use netsh
to reset it. Be aware, however, that certain applications such as antivirus scanners, third-party
firewalls, and proxy clients may begin to malfunction after performing this reset. If this occurs,
simply reinstall the third-party application from its installation media to return it to working
order.
