Click the Add button if you want to create a custom service. You will need to provide the
following information to create the service. Click the OK button when you have finished
creating the service.
a.
Description of Service: Provide a convenient name for the service, such as
MyWidgetService .
b.
Public Address: Specify the public address that will be associated with the partic-
ular service.
c.
Protocol: Specify whether the service uses TCP or UDP.
d.
Incoming Port: Specify the incoming port number used by the data packet. For
example, if you are hosting an internal Web server, the internal port will most likely
be 80 .
e.
Private Address: Specify the IP address of the host on your internal network to
which the service requests will be forwarded. For example, if your web server has an
internal address of 192.168.40.3 , enter that information here.
f.
Outgoing Port: Specify the port number used by this service for outbound traffic.

Select the ICMP tab and specify the requests for information from the Internet to which
RRAS will respond. For example, select Incoming Echo Request to enable RRAS to
respond to ping requests. These are the options:
￿ Incoming Echo Request: The server will repeat data back to the sending system.
￿ Incoming Timestamp Request: The server will confirm that it has received data sent
to it by responding with a timestamp.
￿ Incoming Mask Request: The server will answer requests that have been sent to it
regarding its public network.
￿ Incoming Router Request: The server will answer requests that have been sent to it
regarding the routes of which it is aware.
￿ Outgoing Destination Unreachable: When it cannot reach a destination, the server
will respond by providing a message describing the failure.
￿ Outgoing Source Quench: When it cannot accommodate the amount of incoming
data, the server will ask the sender to reduce its rate of transmission.
￿ Outgoing Parameter Problem: The server will inform the sender if the data that it
receives has bad header information.
￿ Outgoing Time Exceeded: The server will respond with a message if the amount of
time required to process the data is more than is permitted.
￿ Redirect: The server will reroute data if its default path changes.
