Note This recipe assumes that you have already configured RRAS to support IGMP router and proxy as a
routing protocol. If you have not completed this step, you should first review Recipe 9-8, “Adding a Routing
Protocol.”
Solution
Using a Graphical User Interface
1.
Start the Routing and Remote Access Services administrative console from the
Administrative Tools folder in the Start menu, or directly from %systemroot%\system32\
rrasmgmt.msc .

Expand the console tree below the server object until you have selected IP Routing
IGMP.

Right-click IGMP and select New Interface.

Select the interface to which you want to bind IGMP, and click the OK button.
5.
Check the Enable IGMP check box to enable this interface to listen for or forward IGMP
broadcasts.

Select the appropriate Mode option to configure the interface to operate as either an
IGMP router or proxy.

Select the version of IGMP that you want to enable. The options are Version 1, Version 2,
and Version 3. The default is Version 3.

If you configured this interface as a proxy, click the OK button to complete the configu-
ration. However, if you configured this interface as a router, select the Router tab and
complete the following steps.
Specify the value of the Robustness Variable that you want to use. The default value is 2 ,
with a range of 1 - 7 .

Specify the Query Interval in seconds. The default value is 125 .
Specify the Query Response Interval in seconds. The default value is 10 .

Specify the Last Member Query Interval in milliseconds. The default value is 1,000 .

Check the Automatically Recalculate Defaults check box if you want the startup query
interval, startup query count, and last member query count to be automatically con-
figured based on your selections in steps 9 through 12. If you do not check this check
box, you can manually specify these values.

Click the OK button when complete.
