Select the Options tab and set the following options as necessary:
￿ Connection Type: Specify whether this interface is activated on demand or whether it
is persistent.
￿ Dialing Policy: Specify the number of attempts the system will make to complete the
connection, as well as the interval between connection attempts.
￿ Callback: Click the Callback button to specify any callback numbers for this connection.
Click OK to accept the changes and proceed.
￿ X.25: If this interface uses a modem, ISDN, or other dial-out device, you can configure
X.25 options. Click the X.25 button to specify an X.25 network provider and the X.121
address of the remote server. Click OK to accept the changes and proceed.

Select the Security tab and select the level of security that you want to configure. You
can select either Typical (Recommended) or Advanced (Custom Settings).

If you selected Typical (Recommended) in step 7, choose the method of identity verifi-
cation. The available options are to verify with either a secured or unsecured (plain text)
password. Additionally, if you enforce a secured password, you can also specify that the
data sent during the connection attempt must be encrypted.
Note If you enforce data encryption, the server will disconnect the session if it detects unencrypted
communications.

If you selected Advanced (Custom Settings) in step 7, select the following options:
￿ Data Encryption: Select whether you want to enforce, recommend, or prevent
encrypted sessions.
￿ Logon Security: Select whether you want to use Extensible Authentication Protocol
(EAP), or whether you want to allow PAP, SPAP, CHAP, MS-CHAP, or MS-CHAP v2.
You can select as many of the latter protocols as needed, but if you use EAP, you
cannot select any of the others.
10.
If this interface uses a modem, ISDN, or other dial-out device, you can also enable
script processing by enabling the appropriate check box. Select the script that you want
to run from the drop-down list, or click the Browse button to browse to the location of
the script.
