Starting SQL Server Data Tools for the
first time
Now everything is set for starting the development environment for SQL Server 2012.
Go to the
Start
menu, and start the
SQL Server Data Tools
. It is the
Integrated
Development Environment
(
IDE
)thatisusedwhenbuildingallBusinessIntelligence
projects in SQL Server 2012, and is built on top of Visual Studio 2010.
The first time you start the IDE, you have to choose the look and feel of the tool; since
you are going to develop cubes, you should choose
Business Intelligence Settings
