Adding
dimension
security
to
the
FirstCube
project
To change the newly created role to only include some of the objects, perform the
following steps:
1. In the Role designer, click on the
Cube
tab.
2. Onthe
Cube
tab,changetheaccesstothe
Adventure Works DW2012
cube
to
Read
:
3. Deploy and process the cube.
4. Double-clickonthe
Adventure Works DW2012.cube
fileinthe
Solution Ex-
plorer
window.
5. Click on the
Browser
tab and then click on the
Change User
button.
6. In the
Security Context
dialog, click on the
Roles
radio button, select
Inter-
net Sales Readers
in the drop-down list, and then click on
OK
.
7. Review the available objects in the Metadata browser. As you can see, you
have access to all objects within the cube, as accesses to them are inherited
since the role was granted access to the cube.
8. Switch backto
Internet Sales Readers.role
andclickonthe
Dimension
tab.
9. Deselect the following dimensions:
