knowledge, to ensure that the strategies and projects developed actually reach
and are utilized by those in greatest need of such measures.
Gender does matter. If we are serious about addressing the real causes of
climate vulnerability and contributing to a future that is guided by sustainability,
it is neither ethically defensible nor economically responsible to ignore the role
that gender plays in the lives and livelihoods of millions of human beings.
