between local shadow samples and the main image sampler options. To do this, we
need to perform the following steps:
1. Click on the
Orthographic Front
scene tab and then right-click on the Dome
light to open up the light editor.
2. In the
Shadow
section of the Dome light controls, we can then set the
Sub-
divs
value to
24
, allowing V-Ray to use a possible 576 samples per pixel for
shadow creation.
3. Finally, click on
OK
to lock the settings in place and then return to the
Wide
Shot - 35mm
scene tab and hit the render button.
While what this gives us still looks a little rough, the addition of GI and improved
image sampling settings to the scene later on should be enough to clean things up
nicely without our render times climbing unnecessarily high.
