Of course, one of the brilliant things about using V-Ray as our render engine of
choice is that we can fairly easily set things up so that we are able to quickly render
out a number of focal length tests and then compare them side by side using the
history function H in the V-Ray frame buffer. At this moment in time, full frame test
renders would take much longer than we can afford on a commercial project so let's
go ahead and make a quick change to our settings so that we can get some test
renders here:
1. In the V-Ray options dialogue, open up the Global switches rollout.
2. And in the Materials section, check the Override Materials box.
3. Finally, uncheck the Reflection/refraction , Maps , and Glossy effects op-
tions.
Rendering will now proceed much faster as we have essentially cut out all of the
computationally expensive material properties in the scene.
