The medium shot
The medium shot, is, as its very name suggests, designed to sit somewhere between
the long and close up shot that comes next, and looks to give us a little bit of the
best of both of them but without of course the extremes of either. The medium shot
can still reveal a reasonable amount of space found in the environment while at the
same time (with good use of framing and composition of course) being able to focus
our attention more closely on one or two specific elements inside the scene.
