Tip
Again, we may need to toggle the sRGB button in order to get a better view of
how the Bump effect is working.
The last thing that we need to add to this particular material would be a small meas-
ure of reflectivity. Rather than having to add a new Reflection layer as we did with
our floor material, however, we can simply take advantage of the functionality that is
already sat waiting in the new VRayBRDF layer. To do that, let's perform the follow-
ing steps:
1. In the
Reflection
section of the VRayBRDF layer, click on the map button
found to the right of the
Reflect
color swatch.
2. From the map type dropdown, select the
TexFresnel
option.
3. Set HSV values on the
Perpendicular
color swatch to
0
,
0
, and
10
.
4. Set HSV values on the
Parallel
color swatch to
0
,
0
,
0
.
5. Set the IOR value to
1.1
and then click on
Ok
.
6. Set the
Refl. glossiness
value to
0.95
(by default, the Reflect and Hilight
values in the VRayBRDF layer are already locked together, as they are in
versions of V-Ray in other applications such as 3ds Max and Maya).
7. Scroll down to the
BRDF
section of the rollout and set the
Type
in the drop-
down to
Ward
.
