To pull up the SketchUp Material browser, all that we need to do is to close the
V-Ray material editor window and then click to select the Paint Bucket tool on
the SketchUp toolbar (we could also select the Materials option from the Window
menu).
Creating the diffuse component for our floor
To demonstrate how easy it is to work with already existing SketchUp materials when
rendering with V-Ray, let's add a diffuse color element to our floor by performing the
following steps:
1. First of all, activate SketchUp's Select tool by pressing the Space bar and
then double-click and single-click on the floor geometry in the scene to select
it from inside the group (it should turn blue).
Note
Triple-clicking to open the group and selecting all in one go would unfor-
tunately also select the walls in this instance; hence, the double and then
single-click approach is recommended.
2. In the SketchUp material browser, access the library dropdown and click on
Tile in the tile material section.
