In-Depth Information
Of course you may be wondering how we would go about altering those shadow set-
tings or indeed make any alterations at all to the behavior of the V-Ray Sun in our
scene using the current setup? Well, the workflow for that would be as simple as ac-
cessing the TexSky map options for the GI (skylight) and then making the necessary
changes. To demonstrate, let's go ahead and reduce the softness of our shadow
edges this time.
Tip
In order to make a comparative evaluation, once you have finished making
changes here, you may want to save your current Looking at the Sky render by
means of the History window.
To alter the shadow edges, we need to perform the following steps:
1. In the Environment rollout of the option editor, click on the map button to
open up V-Ray texture editor .
2. In the Sun controls (where we note that all of our earlier parameter edits are
still in place), set the sun size parameter to a value of 4 ; click on OK to exit
the texture editor; and then, up on the V-Ray toolbar, click to initiate a new
render.
