With that done, it is now time to add our up lighters.
Creating the IES up lighters
As adding these into the scene will follow our previous set of steps pretty closely, we
can go ahead here and move through this process fairly quickly. The first thing we
need to do is create a new IES light object, one that can serve as the Up Lighter
template for a whole group. To do this, perform the following steps:
1. Click on the Up Lighter Up Close scene tab to get up close to one of the Up
Lighter fixtures.
2. Select the IES Light button on the V-Ray toolbar.
3. Click on a point on the light fixture to create and position the IES light object.
4. Rescale to about 20 percent of the original size.
5. In this case. We will be using a down lighter IES file to create the effect we
want we will have to rotate the light object by 90 degrees, effectively turn-
ing it upside down. (We can do this using either SketchUp's Move or Rotate
tools.)
6. Once rotated, we want to place it inside our fixture geometry, making sure
that the light cone stays above the internal face of the geometry. (This en-
sures that light emission is not blocked.)
7. Perform a final check to ensure that your light is positioned to match the
