Radial Hierarchy
A radial hierarchy can be preferable to a top-down or left-right hierarchy,
particularly when hierarchies are very wide. As always, a number of
variations exist. In yEd, the radial hierarchy generates a nice hierarchy with
successive circular shells, as shown in the left of
Figure 4-15
. The radial
hierarchy may work well with hundreds of nodes but can be problematic
with larger hierarchies.
