Figure 2.11 These 633 areas have the most equal levels of population of any set
in Britain. Each has a single elected member of parliament. They are rarely used
in mapping as no administrative role is given to them. Their apparently varying
importance makes this type of map, when drawn on an equal land area basis,
obviously inappropriate for depicting election results.
