Figure 2.9 These 322 areas were created during the 1980s by Academics in
Newcastle for the Department of Employment as being the most appropriate for
the presentation of unemployment levels and other statistics. Notice that Corby is
back as the single highest rate of unemployment and that the Scottish islands are
now more accurately labelled with names like 'Islay'.
