Whether the technical innovations suggested here will result in useful still
pictures for printed work (such as this) also remains to be seen. What we do now
know is that just because something may appear to be a good idea that alone is not
enough for it to be taken up and implemented. In the social sciences most of us
stopped looking at the routine data, just as that data began to become interesting,
showing patterns that were no longer routine, but of a newly dividing country.
This occurred just as we could have begun to look at it in more interesting ways
and then shown others what was occurring.
