drawn in proportion to their populations, coloured to match the colours in the
map and projected on an equal land area map, viewed from the south. Three-
dimensional views can be misleading. Here, Devon appears larger than Strath-
clyde because it is drawn in the foreground, while the size of London obscures
other areas. Note: the lower part of this image is an enlarged low resolution
computer screen snapshot that was created by early ray-tracing software and so
appear mottled in places.
