Figure 7.13 A lattice of 300 by 450 points was draped over the distribution
of unemployment measured across 10 444 census wards projected on an equal
population cartogram. The volume is proportional to the numbers of people out
of work, the height, to the proportions. A tall spike can be made out - rising from
the centre of the Capital. A ring of low rates can also be seen around London's
inner city.
