Figure 5.19 The change in the order of second place party over time is actually
much more interesting than that of the winners. The geography of the rise of the
Liberals (and then their Alliance with the Social Democratic Party) was dramatic,
as they spread around the South. The rise of the Nationalists in October, 1974,
was also outstanding and a glimpse of the future that was to come.
