Figure 5.3 When the much simpler division of change into above and below
average is shown a simpler set of patterns is revealed. There is much less immi-
gration of people born outside of Britain into the North East of England. Of those
who do go to the North, Wales or Scotland, in general they are more likely to have
been born in Ireland. It is the other groups that mostly went to the South East.
