CLOTHES AND SHOES
We concentrate on the home-grown and local rather than the ubiquitous international names, but if it's global designer
wear you're after, bear in mind that nearly all the department stores stock lines from major and up-and-coming names.
For designer-style fashion at lower prices, try the more upmarket high-street chains such as Jigsaw and Whistles. Mango,
Zara, Monsoon, H&M and Warehouse are good bets for cheaper versions of the same. For street and clubwear, also try
London's markets (see p.433), the hippest of which have become breeding grounds for indie shops and one-offs. They're
also good places to hunt down vintage clothes, an area in which London excels.
