anything from punk funk and electro to rock; the pub grub

cluttered and oddball decor and friendly crowd here make
for a fun, laidback atmosphere; plus there's modish pub

Spacious and comfy bar owned by the Scottish
microbrewery, with pizza, too, perfect to pick at as you chill
out on the squidgy sofas. There's a second Brewdog in

high-ceilinged pub, despite its glammed-up interior, is the
leafy beer garden which hosts summer weekend barbecues
and hog roasts. Good selection of draught continental

tube, with an unmatched atmosphere - there are live gigs/
DJs at night - in an area that can sometimes be very quiet.

closer to Upper St, and serves upmarket food. Mon-Sat

285. The focus at this gastropub is most definitely organic,
with a daily changing menu of award-winning organic
food, as well as organic beers (including real ales), wines

and soft drinks. Unsurprisingly, none of it comes cheap.

no-fuss contemporary pub pulls in the CAMRA crew and
laidback drinkers with its regularly changing selection of

weathered, wood-panelled Victorian pub in the
backstreets, with lovely etched glass, high ceilings and
eccentric bits and bobs all over the place. Good range of

heart of Islington. The grand Victorian boozer is a corker,
with real fires, vintage decor, fresh flowers and lots of
theatrical memorabilia; the little theatre (see p.419) is at

pub, a long narrow corridor of a place with fantastic live Irish

and bluegrass music - there's no stage, as such - slow-pulled
