Company Museum. The most popular exhibit is Tipu's Tiger , a life-sized wooden
automaton of a tiger mauling an of cer of the East India Company; the innards of the
tiger feature a miniature keyboard which simulates the groans of the dying soldier. It
was made for the amusement of Tipu Sultan, who was killed when the British took
Seringapatam in 1799, and whose watch, telescope, brooch and sword are also
displayed here. Close by is the Golden Throne , revered by the Sikh community as it
belonged to Ranjit Singh , the first and last Sikh emperor, and was taken by the British
