potential for loading siRNAs and protecting them to overcome many in vitro
and in vivo hurdles to achieve targeted delivery to tissues/cells. Meanwhile,
advanced applications for the simultaneous delivery of both siRNA and
hydrophobic drugs can be developed using polymeric micellar delivery systems
to enhance therapeutic efficacy. The coming years represent a critical time in
the field as the concept requires further optimization to become a suitable
clinical delivery system for cancer therapy.
