Different Kinds of Networks
The mobile community supports a variety of different types of networks, depending on
your operator and where in the world you are using the device. Some networking tech-
nologies are used more widely than others. The more efficient the networking technology,
the larger the video payload you can deliver. Larger payloads mean better quality.
Table 28-2 lists several kinds of network technologies and suggests some bit rates
that might be appropriate as starting points for testing content on them.
