Using the windows installer (
.msi
) package, you can install SQL Server 2008 R2 sample
databases. However, you must make sure that your SQL Server instance meets the following
prerequisites:

must be enabled

PowerPivot for the SharePoint component can be installed using the SharePoint 2010
setup program
SharePoint 2010 is only supported on Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2
or higher, and Window Server 2008 R2, and only on x64 platform
