26. Next, on the Columns tab, identify the similar rows by using the columns component
in the Available Input Columns box.
In case columns are to be grouped, click on
the Column Names selection and for a simple
pass-through click on Pass Through selection.
27. Finally, on the Advanced tab, the global values must be set for input key, output key,
and similarity score columns.
28. Save the package to take advantage of Fuzzy lookup and grouping features.
All the steps mentioned earlier will enable the SSIS package components to provide
an advanced functionality of managing ETL activities efficiently beyond typical data
transformation.
How it works...
The primary design goal for the SCD wizard and the transform component will enable the
process to build a robust SCD data flow. The wizard will quickly build data flow to generate a
package that will start dealing with larger dimensional datasets to improve the ETL performance.
The Fuzzy lookup transformation performs data standardization tasks such as providing
missing values. Fuzzy grouping transformation performs data cleansing tasks by identifying
rows of data that are likely to be duplicates.
