From menu to mood, Sweet Melissa's offers well-balanced, relaxed refinement. Dishes are
creative without trying too hard, and most mains can be served tapas size, which encour-

grilled romaine and the refreshing watermelon salad. Service is attentive and the atmo-
sphere upbeat.

Getting There & Around
Driving is the only way to come and go. The Sanibel Causeway (Hwy 867) charges an en-
trance toll (cars/motorcycles $6/2). Sanibel is 12 miles long, and Captiva 5 miles, but low
speed limits and traffic make them seem longer. The main drag is Periwinkle Way, which
becomes Sanibel-Captiva Rd.
