For tent camping, the Gulf Coast hardly offers better than the more than 200 sites here.
Well shaded by thick-growing palms, many face the water, and there are good facilities,
hot showers, a grassy field and small camp store, in addition to other park concessions.
Online reservations can be made three months in advance, but a few first-come, first-
served sites are made available every Friday.

For a quiet, relaxing seaside getaway, these 12 rooms and four cottages are unqualified

Bill Ockunzzi, the gregarious former mayor of Indian Rocks, has whipped up a perfectly
funky and festive south-of-the-border-style B&B. The five rooms and one efficiency are
each unique, filled with playful art, chunky crayon-colored tiles and bright quilts. Full hot
breakfast, afternoon sangria and loaner kites are included.

The latest addition to Pass-a-Grille's beach scene is in keeping with the village's low-level,
Old Florida vibe. The two-story clapboard house offers 11 homey studios with kit-
chenettes, some with lounge seating, others with balconies offering garden or gulf views.
They're all set around a courtyard pool, although with complimentary beach chairs and
bikes you won't have much time for swimming.
