In Orlando, roughly equidistant from Disney and Universal are three major parks,
clustered together, all owned by the same parent company:
SeaWorld Fantastic marine animal shows, a handful of great rides including a charming tiny
tot section, and animal-interaction programs.

Discovery Cove All-day package includes unlimited snorkeling, beachside lagoon swim-
ming, lazy river floats through an aviary and optional swimming with dolphins.

Around Orlando
Legoland In Winter Haven about 45 minutes south of Disney, Florida's newest theme park
aims at the 12-and-under set.
Kennedy Space Center On the Atlantic Coast about an hour's drive from Orlando and next
to the wild beaches of Canaveral National Seashore, it makes for a fascinating all-day im-
mersion in the US space program, but there are no traditional rides.
Tampa Bay Area
Busch Gardens African-themed wildlife encounters, various shows and musical entertain-
ment, and some of the state's wildest roller coasters.
Adventure Island Top-notch water park adjacent to and owned by Busch Gardens.
Weeki Wachee Springs One hour north of Tampa, this Old Florida original is world-famous
for its spangly-tailed, long-haired mermaid shows. Plus, there's a small spring-fed water
park, animal presentations and river canoeing.
