ESSENTIAL THEME-PARK STRATEGIES
IN ADVANCE…
Purchase advance tickets While ticket prices at Disney are always the same, prices for
other parks cost $10 to $20 less if purchased in advance and certain tickets change day-
by-day. Online calenders allow you to peruse prices over several months.
Purchase multiple day-admission tickets and be flexible It's absolutely exhausting
tackling the parks at 110% day after day. You'll better enjoy the fun if you allow room for
down-time by the pool or beyond.
Reserve Disney's FastPass+ attractions up to 60 days in advance This guarantees a
short wait at three rides or character spots per day through the separate 'Fastpass+ line.'
Note that you cannot reserve attractions until you have purchased theme-park tickets.
Reserve Disney dining up to 180 days in advance Select a few don't-miss eating ex-
periences as the backbone of your Disney plans, and be sure to take location into consid-
eration.
Stay at an on-site resort if going to Universal Orlando's Wizarding World of Harry
Potter The quality of the accommodations, amenities and service, combined with the
time- and stress-saving perks they offer plus easy access to the parks, make this a no-
brainer if you can swing it. On-site guests can enter Harry Potter-themed attractions one
hour earlier than the general public.
ONCE THERE…
Arrive early Come before park gates open, march straight to popular rides before lines
get long, and consider leaving by lunch, when crowds are worst. This probably won't work
every day, but a few efficient mornings make a palpable difference.
Pack snacks Something as simple as peanut-butter sandwiches and an apple stuffed in
your bag will save time, money and stress.
Factor travel time When planning each day, carefully consider travel to and within the
parks. At Disney especially, transportation logistics can waste hours and leave you
drained.
