Pets are welcome at any of the 59 campsites nestled among the woods at this 5000-acre
park. If you want something more sumptuous (but canine-free), try the park's fully
equipped luxury cabins, which sleep up to six.

Ocala's paddockside Hilton has its own Clydesdale horse, Buddy (and free horse cookies
for you to feed him), who waits patiently to take guests on free carriage rides. There's a bi-
weekly chocolate fountain and a jogging trail, too.
The Schnitzel Factory GERMAN

You'll find this little German restaurant in a strip mall in suburban Ocala does a roaring
trade. The schnitzels aren't drool-worthy, but the '80s German music videos on the mul-
tiple LaserJuke screens could be the secret weapon. Oh, and the beer!

Getting There & Around
Greyhound ( 352-732-2677; www.greyhound.com ; 529 NE 1st Ave) is in the Central Transfer
Station, at the corner of NE 5th St, just a few blocks from downtown. The transfer station
for Amtrak ( 352-629-9863; www.amtrak.com ) is here, and so is SunTran ( 352-401-6999;
www.suntran.com ) , whose buses can get you around town between roughly 6am and 7pm;
bus trips cost $1.25.
