Housed in the former city jail (1879-1975), Florida's only oral-history museum has tiny
but informative exhibits exploring Native American history, the Spanish Mission period,
the Civil War and historic preservation. A variety of tours are available, including the
eight-flags tour (11am and 2pm Monday to Saturday and 2pm Sunday), providing lively
interpretations of the island's fascinating history, and architecture tours, pub crawls and
cell-phone walking tours ($5).

This working ranch leads gentle beachside horseback-riding tours, suitable for new riders;
call in advance for longer and more challenging trips. You don't need prior riding experi-
ence, but children must be at least 13 years old.
Egan's Creek Greenway WALKING

A network of grassy trails covering over 300 acres, the Egan's Creek Greenway is the per-
fect place to spot alligators, snakes, bobcats and countless species of birds. Interpretive
displays line the trails. Well soled, covered footwear is recommended.
Pipeline Surf Shop SURFING

From fall through spring when nor'easters bluster through, surfable beach breaks are com-
mon, especially at Main Beach. Pipeline rents all kinds of boards and wetsuits, and gives
surf lessons from beginner to advanced. It even runs SUP yoga classes: yoga on stand-up
paddle boards!
