Eating
The Five Points neighborhood, southwest of downtown, and the San Marco neighborhood,
across the river from downtown, have tons of trendy cafes and bars with outdoor seating.
The city's suit-and-tie financial industry means lots of steakhouses and upscale bistros.
French Pantry FRENCH
( 904-730-8696; 6301 Powers Ave; items $6-12; 11am-2pm Mon-Fri)
The secret is well and truly out about this inconveniently located, but thoroughly hopping
weekday lunch-only joint, serving fresh filled French rolls and panini, soups, salads and
incredible pastries and desserts. Another downside is that folks line up to get in and the
service can get frustrating. If you're not fussy, grab the booty and devour it in your car.
bb's FUSION
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 904-306-0100; www.bbsrestaurant.com ; 1019 Hendricks Ave; mains
$12-32; 11am-late Mon-Sat)
This groovy establishment, with its molded-concrete bar, clean, modern lines and daily
cheese selection champions fresh local produce, which is crafted into arty, flavorful dishes
from scratch: a gourmand's delight. Suggested wine pairings keep things simple. Connois-
seurs of dessert needn't look elsewhere - the chocolate ganache cake alone is worth the
trip.

Jax's premier riverfront restaurant is the perfect place to quaff a microbrew and enjoy
some upscale seafood overlooking the water. Prices are reasonable for the location and
quality of the food. The Sunday Brunch Buffet (adult/child $23/15) is lots of fun.
