Getting There & Around
Driving from the north, take I-95 exit 318 and head east past US Hwy 1 to San Marcos
Ave; turn right and you'll end up at the Old City Gate, just past the fort. Alternately, you
can take Hwy A1A along the beach, which intersects with San Marco Ave, or US Hwy 1
south from Jacksonville. From the south, take exit 298, merge onto US 1 and follow it into
town.
Cars are a nightmare downtown with one-way and pedestrian-only streets and severely
limited parking; outside the city center, you'll need wheels. There's a massive car park at
the Visitor Information Center.
If you're flying into Jacksonville, Airport Express ( 904-824-9400;
